Ernie Babich

Mortgage Banking for the world's most sophisticated investors for a third of a century.

Ernie Babich has been recognized as one of the founding members of the mortgage banking community in Phoenix Arizona.  Over a career beginning in 1980 he has been at the forefront of the real estate investment industry.  He has formed three “de novo” mortgage banking firms, and continues to head Quantum Financial, Inc. founded in 1993.  Immediately prior to that formation, he managed and restructured loans for the RTC and advised several local commercial banks on loan re-positioning and refinancing.  He has raised private equity and has originated more than $50 million in sub-prime commercial loans for Citibank, Wachovia and First Federal Savings and Loan.  Mr. Babich has closed more than $700 million in loans under Fannie Mae DUS, Freddie Mac Plus, and FHA.  He originated commercial loans from 1997 to 2003 with GMAC as its Phoenix Vice President.

He initiated his career in real estate development in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania where he played a key roll in the planning and development of the Shared Services Project, a $127 million joint venture of Children’s Hospital, Presbyterian Hospital, and Health Center Development Corp. He has gone on to develop neighborhood retail, office, and multifamily projects.

Mr. Babich holds a BS in biochemistry from the University of Georgia and an MBA in finance from the University of Pittsburgh. He holds an Arizona Mortgage Bankers License, an Arizona Real Estate Brokers License, and an Arizona General Contractors License.   He is married and is active in numerous charities and local community activities.
